The old advice was to start six to nine months out. This timeline does not hold anymore. The most sought-after honeymoon resorts book up faster than they used to, especially in destinations like Cancun, Saint Lucia, and Jamaica. Starting early means you get to choose, instead of settling for whatever is left.
4. Starting Early Means Getting More of What You Want
Every couple wants something different out of this trip. Starting early gives you room to talk through what you both want: a secluded villa, adventure excursions, or a mix of both. The itinerary ends up reflecting what you both want, instead of whatever is still available by the time you get around to booking.
5. Less Stress, More Excitement
Wedding planning already asks a lot of you. Having the honeymoon locked in early means one less thing sitting on your plate as the wedding gets closer. It also gives you more room to spread the cost out instead of paying for everything at once in the final stretch, which matters during one of the more expensive years of your life.
